Hydrostatic extrusion technology has a history of nearly a hundred years. However, in the process of large-scale and industrialization, the development speed is slowed down due to the limitation of higher strength structural materials. Advances in materials science have promoted the practical application of this technology. Using hydrostatic extrusion technology to extrude titanium screws has outstanding advantages. In recent years, superconducting materials have developed to large scale. Due to the increasing demand for continuous steepness, the size and weight of billet will inevitably increase. In this way, the use of ordinary extrusion equipment is difficult to achieve, and the use of hydrostatic extrusion technology has more advantages.
In the process of metal processing, it is hoped that the workpiece can be under the state of three-way compressive stress, because this is conducive to the plastic deformation of the metal and eliminate the surface cracks and defects of the product. In addition, it is also required to be in a good lubrication state during processing to reduce the loss of function. The above two purposes can be met if the hydrostatic extrusion technique is used.
1. The friction between the embryo ingot and the extrusion cylinder is the main obstacle of metal deformation in the process of frictionless deformation. When hydrostatic extrusion is used, the high pressure liquid separates the embryo from the wall of the extrusion cylinder. At the same time, some of the high pressure liquid enters the die hole, and the extruded product is also separated from the wall. Therefore, the friction coefficient can be as low as 0.01, which also greatly reduce the power loss and improve the precision of the table.
2. Increase the length of titanium screw broken ingot traditional extrusion method, 50% extrusion pressure is used to overcome the friction between the ingot and the extrusion wall. The amount of friction is directly proportional to the toughness of the ingot. Thus, the length of the embryo ingot is limited. If hydrostatic extrusion is used, it is in a frictionless process, thus increasing the length of the embryo. For example, the same tonnage of the extruder, hydrostatic extrusion than ordinary extrusion production can be more than three times.
